Intimate Woodsy Wedding

Waldeinsamkeit is a German word that refers to the sublime feeling one has while being alone in the woods. That was the word Lauren and Allen used to describe what they wanted their intimate wedding at Promise Ridge in Stroudsburg, PA to feel like.

Accentuating the wooded landscape, the couple chose to focus on ferns and other greenery with just a hint of color for their floral designs. The bride’s bouquet was designed using peach and coral colored local and woodland style wildflowers, such as billy balls, veronica, lisianthus, Queen Anne’s lace, ranunculus, and a touch of light blue delphinium. Bonus: a dainty floral crown made with myrtle and white wax flower was created for the bride.

Once the ceremony concluded, the newlyweds and a small group of guests gathered around a table decorated with potted ferns and blooms in vintage bottles curated from the bride’s collection. The great part about using plants in wedding design, is that the couple is then able to keep them afterward!

To pull the peach and coral colors into the reception decor, subtle touches of lisianthus and ranunculus were added to the top and sides of the cake from Kitchen Chemistry.
