We love getting the opportunity to design something distinct and original. So when we were asked to fabricate a dark and moody, wild and romantic design for Katie Jean and Rich’s wedding, we couldn’t resist! The couple was married at The Farm Bakery in Quakertown. With dramatic, overcast skies, it was the perfect late October day for a moody, romantic wedding.
Katie Jean’s bouquet features dark and sensuous jewel-toned blooms, with a touch of blush. Romantic burgundy blooms like dahlias, astrantia, ranunculus, and protea create an alluring ruby red base. Incorporating brighter blooms like majolica spray roses, white anemone, and amnesia roses gives this bouquet balance and captivating contrast.
This loosely-gathered bouquet was all about lavish texture and movement. We don’t often get to use darker elements like purple smokebush and chocolate queen anne’s lace, which is part of what makes this bouquet so striking and unique! The agonis and sedum give it that wild, whimsical look, while the burgundy scabiosa and amaranth add sumptuous texture to those ravishing jewel-tones.
The Farm was lit by enchanting flameless candles and dreamy string lights, keeping with the couple’s dark, moody theme. So, to help brighten the reception florals we incorporated more of those soft blush blooms. We fashioned their antique sweetheart table with an asymmetrical design featuring polo, majolica spray, and quicksand roses embedded in an assortment of textured greens. These luminous blooms create an enticing contrast, as they were paired with decadent platters of overflowing fruit. The pomegranates, figs, and berries exude a mouth-watering and provocative romance to the room that is just simply irresistible!
